Mr. Cyrus Romine is circulating what purports to be the copy of a letter from W.C. Smith, to James Keister, of Warren Township, which letter it is claimed by intimation, that Smith furnished said Keister with money to procure votes for said Isaac Julian, in the forthcoming convention; and John Bowling and John McCoy offers to swear to said purported letter, but do not swear to it, The following affidavits will show the same to be utterly false:

Warren County,

On the 29th day of March, 1870, personally appeared before me, Nicholas Swadley, a Justice of the Peace, in and for said county and State, James Keister, and being first dity sworn, in his oath says, that there is no truth whatever in the report now being circulated that he affiant has been supplied with money by Isaac N. Julian; has never seen him but once to his knowledge, and has held no communication with him on the subject of his nomination; that he has never received one cent, either from said Julian or W.C. Smith or from any other person, to be used to buy or influence votes in favor of said Julian, and all reports are utterly false.
