This week's issue commences our new volume, and to-day is New Year's day at the Republican office. can our friends wish us a "Happy New Year?" Volume fifteen has closed and is now numbered with those which have gone before. What volume sixteen will be we know not. No doubt during the present year it will bear tidings of joy to many of its readers. We hope to see a year of peace, plenty and general prosperity, We hope to be able to chronicle large yields to the farmers and good business to the merchants of Warren.- We hope to leant of the constant employment of our mechanics with a sufficient reward for their labor to stimulate them in their industry. We hope to see the resources of the county developed, and that she shall stand second to none in the State, and that her fame shall go abroad, until for one to live within her boundaries shall be accounted an honor to him. And to this end may her schools increase, and her churces united and stronger, local prejudices be forgoteen, and a unity of sentiment an concert of action sought after and attained; then indeed and in truth may it be said," Noble old Warren."
