Title: Alfred S.
File Attachment:
Attachment Type:

Alfred S., infant son of E.A. and A.M. Boardman, of Pneumonia of the lungs, after an illness of ten days, aged six months.

Father and mother look up, death is but the instrument in the hands of God to draw thee nearer Him. Those whom he loveth be chastiseth. Though the tender twig lies broken and dead at thy feet, the bud blooms in immortality. Our destiny here is the grave- beyond, youth and beauty. One by one thy children have sickened, faded, and died, and three are left, but one day weary with thy toiling, thou shalt cast off "this mortal coil" and seek repose; and while death's cold calm broods o'er the body, thy spirit winged to the home of thy children shall be at rest.- Ed.
