Title: Necessary Evils
File Attachment:
Attachment Type:

If it be a fact that evil originated in Heaven, we may reasonably enough conclude that it is a sort of necessary appendage to this universe, for some purpose or other, we venture not now to say. But that there are necessary evils, no one will pretend to deny. Women are necessary evils, for instance; and so are lawyers. Both, at times, seemingly serve a good purpose, yet in "Gunters" Dictionary, they are defined to be necessary evils because their bad deeds predominate. Now to the black category of necessary evils, we have to add two more attorneys now operating in our midst, to wit:-
John Gregory and W.H. Coon. In a general way these young men are nice clever fellows; but that as attorneys, their influence was evil, it is only necessary to say they lost their eliant's dog, hide, hair, and tallow, slick as a whistle.
