Steve Holdaway is the new deputy for the Warren County Sheriff's Dept. He assumed his duties on June 15th with the department.

Deputy Holdaway is originally from West Lebanon where he and his family lived until he was age 13, when they moved to Danville, Ill. He is a graduate of Danville High School and attended Western Illinois University. He later attended Indiana State University and joined the Terre Haute City Police Dept. in 1979.

He attended the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy while a police officer at Terre Haute and met Don Moyars who was also attending the academy at that time. Moyars is now the Warren County Sheriff.

Deputy Holdaway now makes his home in Williamsport and is enjoying being back in Warren County. He said the recent Warren County 4-H Fair was especially enjoyable. "The fair gave me an opportunity to meet a lot of people and get acquainted. I'm glad to be back in Warren County again," Holdaway said.
