Title: Letter from C.F. Damrow
File Attachment:
Attachment Type:

George H. Nordurft of this place has recently received a letter from C.F. Damrow who removed from this place to Lincoln City, Nebraska, early this fall. He writes that he was initiated into frontier life by paying a hotel bill of ten dollars for his first night's entertainment there, and securing the next day two small rooms to live for twenty five dollars a month, and having to pay ten dollars for a load of Walnut fire wood. He winds up his letter by hinting to his friends here that if he was back in Williamsport and fixed as he was before he sold out, that, as for him and his family, they would serve the Lord, and let Nebraska go to the dogs. Undoubtedly his western fever has considerable abated.
