Title: Commissioner's Court
File Attachment:
Attachment Type:
Text:

The Board of Commissioners,- or two of the number rather, met on last Monday. David Moffitt, the remaining one being absent on a trapping and hunting tour on the western frontier, of course is absent from the board. This will render it necessary that all matters upon which the two do not agree, be laid over until the next term, so we may hardly expect a new court house to be built next season. We had expected that at the present session, the initiatory steps would be taken to build, as soon as practicable, a good, and handsome court house, one that would be oranment to the town, and a credit to the county. The time, however, is not distant when this will be done, and we may all go to work, and "fix up" as fast as may be, having no fears that the county will be removed in the next half century or more.
