Mr. Hooper presented the Senate bill No. 235 to render taxation for school purposes uniform without regard to race or color. Referred to the committee on education, and 200 copies ordered to be printed.

HOUSE.--A great many petitions, memorials, and remonstrances were presented to the House, upon the subject of temperance, and referred to appropriate committees.

Mr. Vater returned House bill No. 180 appropriating $100,000 for the completion of the Normal School Building at Terre Haute, and recommended its passage.

Mr. Hall, of Warren, submitted a concurrent resolution reciting the public services of General George D. Wagner and his sudden demise, and resolving that both Houses adjourn at half past ten A. M. to-morrow, the 16th, to accompany the remains to the depot, which was adopted.
