Title: Work on the North & South Railway
File Attachment:
Attachment Type:
Text:

The long expected work upon the North & South railway will commence without further delay. Letting of the sub-contracts took place Saturday May 20 and some of the parties arrived to take charge of the work and prosecute the same speedily. The question will no longer be "When?" but "How soon will the cars be running?" We may now give the public the information. The road will be built as rapidly as the work can be done. Contracts were awarded at Indianapolis as follows: From Chambersburg to Attica and from Brazil to Rockville, to Dewey and Mittchell of Indianapolis; from Newburg to Boonesville, to Yates and Pattison of Osgood IN.
