Quincey Clay Haste, 89, a retired employee of Harrison Steel Castings Co., died at 6:40 p.m. Thursday in Meadow Heights Nursing Center, Williamsport, where he had been a patient five days.

Born at Mintonville, Ky., he moved to Otterbein from Kentucky 38 years ago, and resided at Rt. 2 where he farmed. He retired from Harrison Steel Castings Co. in 1949.

In 1910 he was married at Bethelridge, Ky., to Laura Smith, who died in 1927. His second marriage was in 1927 at Bethelridge to Mary Ethel Hodge, who survives.

Mr. Haste was a member of Attica Nazarene Church.

Surviving with the widow are a son, Vola Haste of Brook; four daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Merchant of Cody, Wyo., Mrs. Effie Dye of Bethelridge, Ky., Mrs. Cora Shackelford of Attica, and Mrs. Leona Farrar of Otterbeing; two half sisters, Mrs. Ida Ellen Wilson of Somerset, Ky., and Miss Annalee Wesley of Cincinnati, Ohio; and a half brother, Amos Haste of Florida, 16 grandchildren and 3 great grand children.

Services were Sunday afternoon in the Maus Chapel, Attica, with Don Williams officiating. Interment was at Smith Cemetery in Mintonville, Ky.
