This gentleman was born in the State of New Jersey in the year 1840. He died at Idaho Springs, Colorade, January 23rd, 1901, in the 61st year of his life. He came to Warren county, Ind., in 1873 where he lived, except one year, until 1895. A part of this time he was a citizen of Williamsport and was the host of the Commercial Hotel. Leaving here he went to LaFayette and engaged in the hotel business. In 1896, he went to Texas where he lived for a short time and then went west, locating in Colorado.

He was a member of the Methodist church, was an honest man and a gental companion. He was a member of the Woodman of the World and by that order he was buried. Mr. David T. Allen, of Attica, is a brother of the deceased.
