Mr. and Mrs. Glen Biesel and Betty drove to Winamac Wednesday to attend the funeral of their grandmother, Mrs. Sarah Goodpastor. Bill Biesel went up on Sunday, as he works through the week.

Pvt. John S. Harmon of Charleston, S.C. is spending a furlough at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Harmon.

Mr. and Mrs. Bill Day received a letter from their son, Emerson, who had been reported seriously wounded on Dec. 4th. His letter was written on the 15th of December from the hospital and assured them he was being cared for and hoped to be back again in the fight as soon as possible. We are all very glad to know of this news of Emerson.

Miss Emma Killinger has been very sick at her home east of here. She is improving at this time.
Mr. and Mrs. Bob Eberle received word that their son, Pvt. Cleo Eberle, is now stationed at Camp Gordon Johnson, Fla.

Miss Jeanne Layman, Home Ec. teacher of this school, has resigned. Mrs. Edgar Akers has taken her position. Miss Layman will teach in Montmorenci and will finish her master’s degree at Purdue.

Mrs. Hubert Gephart left for Lakeland, Fla., Wednesday to meet her husband who is stationed there. Shee has been visiting her parents. Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Ogborn, Sr. and family.
