"Charlie" McAlister as he was familiarly was known in this county, after a long illness, died at his residence in this county last Thursday night. His disease was originally lung fever, and at one time he was convalescent but taking a relapse by sitting up after night in an open doorway to watch for an owl, the disease ran into consumption which in the end terminated his life. Many in the county were well acquainted with him, and there are many who will regret his death. He was a member of the I. O. O. F., and was buried last Saturday in the form of this order. Thus one by one the old settlers are going "to that bourne from whence no traveler ever returns."
