Title: Hon. B.F. Gregory
File Attachment:
Attachment Type:
Text:

Hon. B.F. Gregory, of Warren, one of the candidates for Congress, was in the city yesterday. He insists that Warren has claim to the nomination, which can not well be entirely ignored, and certainly she has. Warren has furnished regularly the majorities which have elected a Republican Congressman in the district for many years past, and has never had a representative on the Congressional ticket. Mr. Gregory very justly remarks that if the forestalling of the work of the convention by instructions goes on, it will be entirely useless for him or any body else to spend time or money going to the convention. The convention is thus reduced to nothingness, and the position of delegate, from being of the most honorable and responsible, becomes one of the most insignificant of places.-Laf. Jour. Let the work go on throughout the District, and should success attend Warren County to the District Convention, while we feel proud of all the aspirants living elsewhere, mark it well, that at the October election, such a vote will be given to her resident candidate, as will make the district feel still prouder of her political record.
