THE ENTERTAINMENT.-This comes off to-morrow night at the M.E. Church, without fail. Doors open at 7 o'clock-Every body are respectfully invited to attend. Admission 25 cents. Go, and take your lady.---EMIGRATION.-This thing, as usual, has commenced traveling. Four covered wagons, full of men, women and babies, passed through town last Monday, bound for the west. People must be plenty somewheres.---THE FRUIT PROSPECT.-The peach, cherry, plum and apple trees are in bloom now, and if the if's keep out of the way we will have a fair yield of fruit this year.-The late snow does not seem to have harmed them.---RETIRED WESTWARD.-Mrs. Isaac Jones with her children and household goods left this place Wednesday, April the 13th, to join her husband at Neesha Falls City, Kansas. Mr. J. who went there last February, is teaching school at that place.---WHAT DY-E THINK.-Hanes of the "Shoo Fly," last Saturday, sold one hundred and fifty dollars worth of goods. This comes of advertising last week in the REPUBLICAN. Advertise and the people will buy of you.---PINCH HIM.-This gentleman familliarly known as Doc Nordurft still looks as fresh as when he was a small boy, and wears a handsome felt straw hat, which, if time don't soon wear out, use will. The Doctor is a gay youth, and full of fun.---THE GRAND JURY.-The Grand Jury-before whom so many tremble and grow pale-is now sitting. If a man can prove an alibit he is all right, if not, well, he's all right anyhow, that is, this used to be the rule.---TOWN ELECTION.-There will be a town election held next Monday, for the purpose of electing councilmen for the different wards and a Marshall for the ensuing year. The citizens should take an interest in this matter, and see to it that proper persons be elected who will enforce the laws.---TEMPERANCE LECTURE.-Dr. Orrin Aborn, of Marshfield, in this County, will deliver a Temperance Lecture at the Court House of this place, Tuesday evening next, the 3d of May. Every body is invited to attend the lecture, which will be of interest to all.---NEW FIRM.-Messrs. "Phil" Keohler and Stephen Fry have purchased the Drug Store of A.J. Richardson, and propose entering upon the business at once in full blast. This is a good business, and if properly managed will prove a profitable investment. Success to you boys-but you must not fail to advertise.---CLEM-BECKET.-This case came up on Tuesday. Plaintiffs asked for a change of venue, which was not granted. Case was continued over to the next term of Court, which sits next October. Father and sone were required to give bond in the sum of $10,000 each.
