Title: DIED
File Attachment:
Attachment Type:

April 26th, at his residence in Warren county, Milton H. van Reed, age twenty-nine years four months and one day. 'Twas death the despoiler of all we hold dear. That tore dear Milton from our embrace; He took the respeite of the deep gushing tear, And the sorrow that sat upon every face. But oh! there is one cheering thought left us yet; Again we shall meet at the trumpets last sound, Where the sun clad in darkness forever is set, And the dead are commanded to rise from the ground. Yes, then we shall meet in a far better world, When sorrow, nor sickness, nor parting shall come; Where the banner of freedom from death is unfurled. And we all are made happy in our one common home.
