New York Live Stock Market. NEW YORK, May 16,1870. CATTLE-The market is strong and active, with 86 cars to-day at Weehawken, 69 cars at Communipaw, and 45 cars at One Hundredth Street, making 3,400 today, and 5,700 for the week. All the good stock sold at 16 1/2@17c, with many on the scales at 17 1/2c. The quality averages good. Rough bulls brought 13 1/2; thin steers and old oxen brought 14 1/2@16c. The market averaged 16 1/4c, or a 1/4c higher than last week. A car of 850 pounds State fed Illinois steers brought 17 1/2c. One hundred and fifty head 650 pounds at 15 3/4@16 1/2c; 30 Kentucky, 800 pounds, 16 1/2@17 1/2c; 90 Missouri, 1140 pounds gross, 15 1/2c, 57 pounds per cwt. The prospects for the week are strong. SHEEP AND LAMBS-Sheep go slow, and some little concessions are made. The total for the week is 16,700, with 4,510 today. They bring from 6c to 8c for thin to good Western sheared. A car of 72 pounds Ohio sold at 6c; a car of 78 pounds 7c; a car of 8 pounds 8c; a car of fine 87 pounds 8 1/4c. Lambs are lower, selling at 12 to 16c. HOGS- Hogs are worth 12 1/2c dressed.-The total of live for the week is 21,400, with 77 cars to-day. The market is firm, but none selling alive.---Chicago Market. CHICAGO, May 16, 1870. FLOUR-Quiet and unchanged. GRAIN-Wheat very quiet; No. 2 1/2 @ 3/4x lower, closing at 97 1/4@97 1/2c; this afternoon the market was unchanged. Corn dull and 2@2 1/4c lower, closing at 86@86 1/4c for No. 2. Oats dull and 1 12@1 3/4c lower, closing at 48 1/2@48 3/4c for No. 2. Rye quiet; No. 2 closing at 80@80 1/2c. CATTLE-Active at $5.87 1/2@7.90 for stockers to choice steers. HOGS-Active at $8.75to $9.50 for common to choice.---Toledo Grain Market. TOLEDO,April 25, 1870. FLOUR-Dull. GRAIN-Wheat dull, and 3@4c lower. No. 1 White Michigan, $1.24; Amber do, $1.12; No. 2 Red $1.12 1/2. Corn dull and 1c lower; No. 2, 90c; No. 1, 91c. Oats unchanged.
