Advertisers will please hand in their favors as early as Wednesday at 10 o'clock A.M., if they wish them inserted that week. The weather is delightful ------------------------------ Trade dull because the farmers are busy. ------------------------------ A new school building is being built at Monticello and is about finished. ------------------------------ KEEP COOL.-The hot weather has already occasioned several sun strokes.-Look out for more. ------------------------------ POTATOES.-A wagon full of this substantial article of food was sold in town yesterday, for 30 cent per bushel. ------------------------------ Several Communications from different parts of the county, have been crouded out of this weeks issue, which will appear in in our next. ------------------------------ COURT.-The second term of the Commissioner's Court commences the first Monday in June next, which will be the 6th of June. ------------------------ MARRIAGE LICENSES.-Since our last issue, the following licenses for marriage, have been issued by the Clerk: Thomas C. Newcomb and Mary E. Sutton. Henry H. Harris and Margaret E. Hanson. ------------------------ PERSONAL.-W.J. Reynolds and lady of Danville, Ill., were in town on a visit last Sunday and Monday. Hon. D. D. Pratt has our thanks for favors conferred this week. ----------------------- COUNTY CONVENTION.-The Republicans of Benton County hold their convention Saturday, may 28th, next Saturday, for the purpose of selecting delegates to the Congressional, Senatorial, Representative, Judicial and District Conventions.
