Last Monday, during the shower, we noticed a flash of lightening which was closely followed by a thunderous report, sharp and quick.-This flash entered the house of Samuel Citizen through the open door, knocking Mrs. C., down and doing about as it pleased generally; then crossed over to the house occupied by Mr. Lew. Town, where it struck the lightning rod melting it and going off in a hurry into the ground tearing up the earth around for two or three feet; coming out again some distance beyond it struck the corner of the house tearing off a board and leaving for parts unknown.-It is hardly necessary to add that somebody was scared. This is almost as bad as being fired at with a blank cartridge.
