Dr. William Bashaw died at the county farm from pneumonia last Friday morning at the age of seventy-nine and was buried Saturday. We are indebted to Mr. Davis for the following facts concerning this once prosperous and useful man, whose life in old age, has gone out in apparent obscurity. The doctor was born in New Market, Va., where his boyhood days and early life was spent. Coming west he bagan the practice of medicine, in which profession he excelled, being for several years one of the staff of the Ohio Medical College at Columbus. Later he moved to Indiana and for some years practiced in this vicinity. His embarrassment seems to have been caused by his free heartedness, and in old age he was compelled to depend upon charities. His history is that of thousands and should contain a lesson to all The funeral of A.P. Luse of Chicago, took place at Crawfordsville. About forty of the deceased's personal Chicago friends accompanied the remains.
