Catharine Moore was born in Adams County, state of Ohio, Feb. 1st, 1820, and in March 1831 moved with her parents to Iroquois County, Ill. In the nineteenth year of her age she was married to Samuel Fleming of Warren County, Ind. She died at her home in Williamsport, Ind., May 6, 1891, aged seventy-one years, three months and eight days. Her husband having died Feb. 7th, 1864, near Watseka, Ill., leaving with her the responsibilty of providing and caring for their family, while in the tender years of their lives. They were the parents of nine children, six of whom preceeded their mother to the spirit land. Three, James B. Fleming of Cozad, Neb., Mrs. Wesley Hanes and Frank Fleming of Williamsport, survive her to mourn the loss of a good mother. Mrs. Fleming was born and raised in a Christian home, and in early life was converted and united with the Methodist Episcopal Church, living a consistent Christian life up to the time of her death. After the removal to Illinois her life was identified with the pioneer hardships of the early settlements of that part of Illinois where her father settled, having moved there before the red man had abandoned the country. Mother Fleming was a kind companion and an affectionate mother, ever feeling it a pleasure to sacrifice her own comforts for the good of her family. The last year of her life was burdened with severe affliction, which she endured with Christian fotitude and resignation. Mrs. Calvin Epperson, mother-in-law of A.E. Yount of this place, died at her home in West Point, Ind., at 11 o'clock p.m. last Saturday. She was about 70 years old, and has had several strokes of paralysis. Mr. Yount left for West Point to attend the funeral Sunday morning.
