As we announced in last week's issue on the moment of our going to press, Walter Vice died at the home of his father in Old Town, one week ago last Wednesday night at 8 o'clock. Walter was thirty years old and unmarried, being born in Kentucky in 1860 where he lived with the family for a short time, when they moved to Rushville, Indiana. Rushville was the home of the family a short time when they moved to central Illinois, and from there in 1878 to this place where they have since resided. He had been a sufferer for the past seven years with Bright's disease, and it was this, which resulted in his death. The funeral was held at the family residence last Thursday afternoon at 4 o'clock, conducted by the Rev. T.E. Webb and the remains were laid to rest in Hillside Cemetery. A Christian mother's teachings led Walter argiht in the last hours of his life.
