Suddenly Called. Dr. J. C. Steward of Marshfield died quite suddenly Sunday night.; He was well apparently in the afternoon, fighting a fire, which a passing engine had set along the track behind his place. He retired at 8 p.m. Shortly after, his wife heard him gasping and speaking to him received no answer. She quickly sprang up and turned up the light, only to see that it was all over-that he was dead. Dr. Stewart was a practicing physician of the highest standing in the community in which he lived. He was about 65 years of age. He was a member of the G.A.R. and of the Masons, the latter of which had charge of the funeral, which took place yesterday. He leaves, besides his widow, three sons-two living in Kansas and one in California-and a married daughter living in Fountain County, by his first wife, and a married daughter, by his second wife, living at West Lebanon.
