Martha Butt was born March 11th, 1852, and died at her home in Williamsport, September 19th, 1893, aged 41 years, 6 months and 8 days At the age of sixteen, she united with the Christian Church and lived a constant member until death. She was united in marriage to Henry Butt January 19th, 1875. To this union was born to her seven children, three girls and four boys, of which fiver survive her and two have gone before. She was an obedient daughter, a kind sister and a loving wife and mother. After an illness of about eight months she departed life peacefully, the cause of her demise being lung trouble. The funeral took place at the family residence, conducted by Rev. Wm Wilmer, after which the remains were interred in Hillside Cemetery at this place, attended by many mourning relatives and friends. Daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth Clawson was born in Fountain County, Ind., the 26th day of July 1833. She was married to Nicholas Holston April 22d, 1853. She united wiht the Presbyterian Church at Rob Roy in 1853. Near Walnut Grove she died, Sept. 28th, 1893. She was an earnest, faithful Christian, wife and mother. The services were held at the old side Baptist Church near Newtown, the body being buried in the cemetery there. I conducted the services. -William Wilmer Pros. Hanson left here last Thursday for Missouri and returning Friday at 2:30 p.m., brought with him the remains of his late father-in-law, the Rev. R.F. Edmonson. The body was taken to Green Hill Saturday, where it was interred, and the funeral services conducted by the Revs. Cooper and Coghill were held Sunday. The Rev. Edmonson was one of the pioneer United Bretheren preachers of this section, and gave all of his efforts and means to the establishment of the Green Hill Academy.
