A sad case of being poisoned unto death comes from across the line in Warren County. Mrs. Sophia Drollinger, after eating her breakfast, became ill and died in a short time. At noontime dinner had been prepared and the neighbors who had gathered, partook of the meal. Soon five persons who had partook of it showed symptoms of poison and began vomiting. Medical aid was summoned and all recovered. An investigation revealed the fact that only those who drank coffee were sick and as the coffee drank in the morning by Mrs. Drollinger had stood overnight, the conclusion that could be reached was that the coffee was poisoned from the pot which had a copper bottom and they had not emptied the grounds out of the pot, leaving them in and putting the fresh coffee in with them. Thus causing one death and so near resulting in death with others.
