Mrs. Emma Jones, daughter of Jacob Mann of this county who lived in the vicinity of Milford, Ill., was struck by lightening last Friday and instantly killed. She has just stepped to the wind pump to throw it off when the bolt struck the tower and passing down, killed her instantly. She leaves a husband, having been married about six years, and one child with a large circle of friends and relatives in this county to mourn her sad death. J. W. Chumlea, an old and respected citizen of the western part of the county, died at his home in West Lebanon last Wednesday from heart failure. Mr. Chumlea has been ill for some time, gradually growing worse. The funeral services were held Saturday.
