The Rev. J. E. Newhouse, the Covington Republican states, died at his home in Green Castle last week from paralysis. Mr. Newhouse had been a member of the M. E. Conference for about fifty years and was the father of the Rev. F. D. Newhouse, well known in this place. Ezra Cox, who for a number of years was a resident of this place, died in Covington last Thursday at the advanced age of 82 years. He was formerly in the insurance business here, but removed to Covington some five years ago. Interment was made at Fairmount. A little girl of West Butts died at Rosedale, Parke County last Thursday of a disease similar to diphtheria. The little one was buried privately at Covington Saturday. Mr. Butt was formerly a resident of this place, being employed by J. P. Cheesman at his blacksmith shop.
