C. F. Steimle, well and favorably known, died at his home in Rainsville of consumption Monday, September 28th, 1896. Resolutions of the I.O.O.F. order of which he was an honored member are found elsewhere in this issue. Interment took place the following Wednesday. Mrs. Lon Catterlain of the Springs, died from blood poison at 4 o'clock Wednesday morning. The funeral services conducted by the Rev. Wm Wilmer were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, after which interment was made in the Keiser Cemetery. Robert H. Martin died at his home in this county Saturday, September 26th at 5 p.m. of congestion. Mr. Martin was 52 years old. Burial services were held at Independence Cemetery the Sunday afternoon following. John Nern, an old and respected citizen of the county died at his home near Walnut Grove Saturday, Sept. 26th. The funeral services took place the following Monday afternoon. The infant child of Mr. and Mrs. Olef Norquest was buried last Saturday. The little one was but four weeks old.
