Abraham Davis Jr., the subject of this sketch, was born in Miami County, ohio, Nov. 6th, 1868. He with his parents brothers and sisters moved to Warren County, Ind., (near Green Hill) when he was about ten years old, having lived in that vicinity ever since until last spring when he, together with his family, moved to Newton County Indiana, near Morocco. He resided in that county until his death. He was married to Edith E. Pearson, the only daughter of Kifer Pearson, Dec. 18th, 1889. Th them were born three children, Raymond V., Gladys L., and Lizzie. During his last visit to Warren County, he was exposed to the measles. In a couple of weeks after his return home, he took the measles and died in a few days. All that loving hands could do was done to save him but to no avail. During the last few hous of his sickness his sufferings were great until Saturday morning, Ovt. 17th, when death came and relieved him. His doctor was at his bedside when death came. The doctor was a true mand and a Christian; he deserves great praise for what he did. On Thursday he saw that Abraham was in a dying condition and he told the deceased that his time on earth was short, and if he had anything to say to his friends, or any business to arrange, he had better attend to it at once. He prayed for him several times and talked with him about death. Deceased talked to his wife and friends and told them it was hard to die and leave them, that it wa snice to live but it was nicer to die when ready, and taht he was perfectly reconciled to die. He bid them all good bye, kissed them and asked them all to meet him in heaven. He told them he wanted to be brought to his old home in Warren County and be buried there. He was a model man of no bad habits. All who knew him liked him. He was of a cheerful nature, always had a good word and a smile for everyone. He had no enemiew. The funeral services were conducted from his father's home Monday, Ovt. 19th at 11 o'clock by Rev. Cooper
