Died at her home in West Lebanon Saturday, Nov. 13, aged 20 years, Laura, daughter of Joel Briggs. The funeral was held in the Christian Church at that place this afternoon at one o'clock. The remains were interred in the West Lebanon Cemetery. Died at her home two miles east of Attica, Tuesday morning, Mrs. Azriah Leath, Jr., aged 23 years. The deceased was Miss May Wilhite, who was married but little more than a year ago. The remains were taken to Jamestown, where the funeral occurred at 2 p.m. yesterday. Laura Bell Briggs was born in Warren County, Indiana, October 18, 1875, and died at the home of her brother at Hoopeston, Illinois, November 12, 1897, aged twenty-two years and twenty-five days. She united with the Presbyterian Church about five years ago at West Lebanon, Indiana, and remained an earnest and faithful Christian until her life closed. The fourteenth chapter of St. John was a favorite reading of hers. The interment was in the West Lebanon Cemetery. Deceased was near relative of the family of E. V. Briggs of Williamsport.
