Alice Julia Pribble, daughter of Rufus and Prudence Pribble, was born January 21, 1873, died at her parents' home on the barrens, February 20th, 1899, after an illness of two weeks of congestion of the brain and other complications. Although her sufferings were extreme during the time of her sickness, she quietly, peacefully passed away with her head pillowed on her father's breast. She is not, for God took her, and who shall question the wisdom of that great Father? Father will miss her, mother will miss her, and how much the blind grandmother will miss her, for it was Allie's guiding hand, oftener than any other that led her tottering steps aright. Brother and sister, all, all will miss her. In that home is one vacant chair and tears will fall; yet she has only gone before, to join those loved ones, who, now with her, are free from all pain and sorrow, and stand among that joyful throng around the great White Throne. James McAlilly of Valparaiso, Ind., died at his mother's home there on last Tuesday evening at 6 o'clock. The deceased was born in this place and was the son of the late Samuel J. McAlilly, a prominent and leading merchant in the 50's. Funeral and burial will probably occur at Valparaiso. C. L. Butt, the tenant on Mrs. M. J. Aborn's farm in Steuben Township, died from consumption last Monday at about noon, leaving two daughters and one son, all of adult years. Deceased was 55 years of age.
