merican citizen and voter. His death was caused by a painful accident, which occured last friday morning between 8 and 9 o'clock while on his way to this place with a load of wood. A single tree came down and frightened his team and in his efforts to check them he was thrown off the load, striking his head and right shoulder, cutting a deep wound in the back of the head producing unconciousness and breaking the shoulder bone. He never regained conciousness and died at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Louise Horn in this place last sunday night. Dr. Swank was attending the physician and did all he could to releive the sufferer. The funeral was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jamed Horn on Main Street, Monday, October 9th, 1899 at 2 o'clock p.m., rev. Wm. Wilmer officiating. Interment was made in Hillside. The pallbearer were: Thomas Philips, Harvey Walters, James Anderson, Iven Brooks, Neil Bisner and Obe Smith.
