The subject of this sketch, Thomas Lloyd, deceased, was born in Starke County, Ohio, April 2, 1826. At the age of eleven, he moved to Ross County Ohio, where he lived six years. In 1843 he came to Warren County, Ind., and located in Jordan township and from there to a farm north of Marshville in 1880 where he resided until four years ago he moved to West Lebanon. deceased was married November 10, 1850 to Malinda Briggs and to them were born seven children, Elmer, Edward and Celia only surviving their father: Maude, Josephine, William and Charles being dead. The deceased was formerly a member of the New Light Church but for several years previous to his death had been a member of the m. E. church. The life record of the deceased is his most eloquent testimony. He was a devoted husband, an affectionate father, a faithful friend, a good citizen and a devoted disciple of Jesus. Dr. Loren Fleming, living at Mackinaw, Mich., the son of mr. Wm T. Fleming of California, suddenly died on the 28th day of October and the remains were brought by his partner, dr. a. O. Wright to West Lebanon Tuesday of last week, where internment was made in the cemetery there. rev. W. E. Payne of the Christian church officiated at the funeral services. deceased was a dentist and was the eldest of three children born to Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Fleming, formerly resident of West Lebanon. All three are now dead and also the mother, leaving the father bereft and lonely. Word last week came to Mr., Thomas Webb of Liberty Township that his aunt, Mrs. Parmelia Webb Young, residing at Casstown, O., had suddenly died. Wednesday night last week, he left here for Casstown and attended the funeral, which occurred last Friday. the lady was not in bad health, for only that morning she had gone downtown on an errand and returned home before noon. Soon after her return, she was found in her room lying in the bed dead. She was 74 years of age and lived alone, her husband dying several years ago. She left no children. Deceased was an aunt of Mrs. B.F. Titus of this place, and Thomas and Josiah Webb of Liberty Township, being the youngest sister of the late Jesse Webb of Liberty township. se was a member of the Baptist Church. Mrs. Margaret Habberlin was born in Kilkenny County, Ireland in the year 1819, and died at her home in in Williamsport October 17, 1899. She had been confined to her bed ever since April of this year and had been a great but patient sufferer, bearing her sufferings without complaint. Never was she in all her sufferings forgetful of the comforts of her family, and the many friends who showed their sincere sympathy for her in her suffering. She met the friends who daily came to her bedside with the same smile and loving words, for which she was so well remembered in health. Her home was her dominion, finding little in life outside of that to interest her except her church where she was ever faithful member. Her standard of true womanhood was the highest and she lived up to that standard throughout her long and earthly existence. She was a true wife and a model mother. The writer knew her since childhood and during the many years she resided there and attended school never an unkind word fell from her lips, was always met by the same loving kindness and looking at her patient, sweet face, would surely think "of such is the kingdom of heaven". She leaves two children- a son, James, and a daughter, Mrs. Maggie Green, by whom she will be sadly missed. Oh! Mother, the sweetest word that heaven ever wove! She has gone to her eternal home, to join the husband who had preceded her just one short year. The funeral services were held at the catholic church at Attica, conducted by Rev. Father Von Schwedler, after which the remains were laid to rest in the Catholic Cemetery.
