Mr. Nicholas Holston of Jordan Township, living with his daughter, Mrs. Henry Johnson and family, died from paralysis, after a week's illness, on Thursday September 20, 1900. Deceased was born March 16, 1827, and at time of death was in his 74th year. Mr. Holston was a farmer and his wife was dead. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Wm Wilmer Saturday, September 22, 1900, at 9 o'clock a.m., and interment was made in the Baptist Cemetery, near Newtown, in Fountain County, Ind. Dr. T. B. Campbell of West Lebanon, was the attending physician. Mrs. Clara Winks, after a brief illness, died at her home in this place Monday morning at 6 o'clock, leaving a husband and four small children, many loving relatives and hosts of warm, true friends. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Wm Wilmer, her pastor, yesterday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock, at the Presbyterian Church, and interment was made in Hillside. Mrs. Winks was the daughter of Judge J. M. Rabb, and his large circle of friends and acquaintances here and throughout the state will learn of his sad loss with sincere regret and sympathy.
