The Grave John I. Hickman The Infant son of John I. and Alberta Elwell-Hickman was Born Thursday, April 11, 1901. The parents reside in Pine Township. The interment occurred at Rainsville Cemetery Friday, April 12, 1901. William Phillips Deceased was the son of Samuel L. and Barbara McChristian-Philips of Mound Township. He was born on January 1852, and died from the effects of grip, after a month's illness at the County Asylum, Monday, April 15, 1901 aged 49 years and 3 months. The body was shipped from this place to State Line last Thursday and the funeral was held at 1 p.m. Interment was made in Gopher Hill Cemetery in Kent Township. Mrs. Mary E. Berry-Spencer of Danville, Ind., widow of the late Moses Spencer of this county, died in that city last Tuesday evening of heart disease, aged 60 years. The remains will arrive here today and be taken to Rainsville, her former home for interment. She was married to Moses Spencer in 1860, who died in 1874, by whom she was the mother of four children, two surviving her, Mrs. Bernie Pride of this place, being one. she married again, her second husband being David Reed of Pine Township, by whom she had four children, all of whom survive her. She and Mr. Reed were separated. Deceased for several years had been ailing from heart trouble and dropsy. Mrs. Hester Julian, residing on East Third Street, after an illness of six days died Wednesday morning from lung disease, her death being hastened by a cold, which she contracted last week. She was the mother of four sons, all living and three daughters, two of whom survive her. The sons are Renn, Will, Ike and John, and the daughters are Mrs. Mary Lewis of Mt. Carmel, Ill., and Mrs. Ollie Richcreek of Steuben Township. Mr. Wm C. smith of this place is the brother of deceased, and is the last living member of the family.
