Benj. Ford, an old citizen of this county, living in Prairie township, died from typhoid fever last Friday in the 80th year of his life. The remains were interred in the Redwood cemetery in Steuben Township last Tuesday. He was the father of Mrs. John Spacy, of Prairie Township, and the uncle of J. W. Bush, of this place DIED Last Friday afternoon Thomas North, of West Lebanon, on his way from this place home, was suffocated in mud in the ditch alongside the Wabash Railroad track west if the Jason Bowlus Crossing. He had left here about 11 o'clock p.m. for home walking on the track and how he got down in the mud will remain a mystery. When found he was lying face down, the face being buried in the mud. possibly he had a spasm and fell and was unable to help himself. He was a man about 40 years of age, and was the son of the late Harry North. He was a plasterer by trade and lived with his mother, having never married. The funeral occurred Sunday and interment was made in the West Lebanon cemetery. When North was found Correll & Boyd were notified and they at once sent their wagon to the scene. Deceased leaves a mother and brother.
