In Memoriam Daisy May Howard. This young lady was the daughter of John W. and lizzie Howard, of liberty Township, residing near Carbondale. She was born February 18, 1884, and died at the home of her parents on Wednesday July 30, 1902, at the age of 18 years, 5 months, and 12 days. Four months previous to her death she was taken ill with typhoid fever and was recovering when she had a relapse. The funeral discourse was delivered by Rev. Mr. Rainer, pastor of the Methodist Church at West Lebanon, at 10 o'clock a.m., Thursday, July 31, 1902, at the family residence. Remains were interred in the Slauter cemetery. Deceased was a popular young lady and leaves a large circle of mourning friends besided a father, mohther, brother and sister. The pallbearers were: Misses Lenna Pierce, Lottie Hickman, Elsie Hickman, Jennie Copeland, Sida Beason and Minnie Brown. Died Mrs. Elizabeth Bush, wife of ex-Marshal Bush, Formerly of Attica, died at her home in Chicago last Friday from cancer of the liver. The remains were brought to Attica for interment. Funeral occurred Sunday in that place. The Death Roll John L., the infant son of Samuel I. and Anna Simmerman, of liberty Township, died Friday August 1, 1902, aged 1 year, 5 months and 29 days. Interment was made in the Carbondale cemetery on Saturday, August 2, 1902. Flossie Viola, infant daughter of Chas. and Ina Vansickle, of Jordan Township, died Saturday, August 2, 1902, and the funeral services were held at the residence at 9 o'clock a.m., Sunday, August 3, made in hillside cemetery at this place. Deceased was born October 6, 1899, and she was 2 years, 9 months and 2 days old. the child set her clothes on fire with a match, receiving terrible burns, and died at 1 o'clock a.m. Saturday in great agony. Dr. McCollough attended her.
